I recently had my bank details stolen (debit card) and money was stolen from my account (my money) this was over 3 weeks ago, I have just rang to findout what was going on (0845)#, My claim is still being processed and the fraud department are waiting for sales vouchers to be sent to them. The lady informed me that its going to take several more weeks, could be as much as 8 weeks.
Now if this had been on my credit card it would be different because its their money thats been stolen not mine. I have heard of ppl having money credited back into their credit card account withing a week or two.
I'm gettins so stressed with it, + 1 or 2 other things going on too (local council + their insurers dragging their feet) I suffer from depression and anxiety already and this situation is not making it any better.
AAAAARRRRGGGGG!!!!
I dont feel any better for having a rant :-(
Just hope no one rings or calls at my house withing the next hour or so because they will regret doing so!

How terrible for you - will the bank not refund you the money until they have fully investigated then? I would keep on at them and tell them that you cant afford for this money to be missing for long - you could always tell them you are going to the press?
Hope this doesnt affect your health too much - though I can imagine it will.Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
I did mention a refund first while they investigated, got a "sorry thats not our company policy" reply. Why would it be, it would mean that the bank would be refunding me their money.
Keeping on at them is only going to cost me, no freefone # :-(
They did however give me a bigger overdraft and if I dip into it I will be charged!, I will have to claim the charges back ...... why should I have to do all the running around, begging for my money to be refunded. I have heard of ppls problems when trying to claim back charges and I just dont want to add to my problems.
I gave my situation details on the fone .... told them I was on benefits and those were all the savings I had. Told them of my health problems .... all falls on deaf ears .......... just a waste of my breath :-(MSE:-)MoneySpendingExpert (-:0 -
I can't rate my bank highly enough. They discovered a fraudulent removal of funds from my credit card on the internet (a very small amount!!!) and phoned me the next day to query that and some previous transactions, all of which were ok. They immediately stopped my card and said I would have a new card shortly. I thought it would take about a week, but it came two days later and I have had no problems with anything paid with the old card as I had ok'd everything before they stopped it.
If they hadn't spotted this, I wouldn't have seen it till my next statement.Jackie0 -

One crucial point there being........ Credit card ........... If someone is stealing their money then they put a stop to it instantly, My account had to go to over £700 in the red, and its only because I noticed it that it came to a stop. Incedently I only had a £50 overdraft at the time.
