Going to Tenerife with 2 - 6 week old baby

Hello, just seeing what advice people can give going abroad with a baby so young.....(any experiences?)

I have spoken to midwife and she as confirmed barring any complications with baby or mother then the baby can fly at 1 week old....

We have already booked and cant cancel flights (Ryanair) or accom so just added infant onto flight booking..

We have a 4 year old also.

We are going with Mum and Dad and Sister (26) nursery nurse....

I dont need to hear about moral issues, we are fine with morally taking our children away in November... The weather wont be to hot.

Our baby is due 16th October and our flight is 13th November.

Sorry for waffling but would like to here peoples experiences (if there are any)

Thanks

I've taken a 20 week baby abroad but not a six week old.

I really cannot see why it should be a problem -as long as you do the obvious stuff like keeping baby out of the sun. In my experience its a lot,lot easier to take a young baby than a toddler.

On a practical level a breast fed baby would be easier than having to take formula, steriliser etc but either way its really not too hard. Nappies will be readily available in resorts and a sling may be useful to use at the airport.

We are off to lanzarote with a five month old next week and staying for a month :j several people have commented about him being so young, funnily enough they are all people who have never taken a baby abroard themselves,I think you'll find the only people who'll be negative will be the ones who can't afford a holiday or are too boring to leave the country.

    Enjoy yourself.

Ps If baby is late he/she may only be 4 weeks !!!

Hi, yes we have budgeted for a fast track passport.. This is the quickest we can get it so even if baby is late then the passport will be here in time.

    Thanks
