Everest Rooflining solution- need advise

Dear all
I'm looking for some advise before I commite to a solution. In summery, I have a 1st floor Maisonette, 1930s build and still has the original roof (from what i can see), while the roof structure is sound and is properly insulated from the inside, the edges of the roof are not and the water has been seeping to the endges of the wood beams where the facias are fixed. as a result, the facias are hanging by a thread and so are the gutters!
I know that the long term solution is to reroof the property but this is not an option at the moment so i'm looking around for a creative mid-term solution for the next 3-4 years and have come accross the Everest Rooflining solution as described in this link
everest(.)co(.)uk/roofline-guttering
(sorry not allowed to post a link directly)
which among other things include the following:
"We install fascias to cover the ends of rafters, replacing the feet of roof rafters if they are rotten. "
Will this solve my problem? has anyone used this solution before? or used this company?
I have been looking online for reviews and while i like what they say on their website, I'm a bit turned off by some negative reviews about over-pricing and pressure selling techniecs
Do you have any other ideas/solutions for my problem?
Please help!!
Thanks

Doubtful you need a new roof if that is the only problem ..but you will need new soffits, fascias and guttering. As already said don't go with Everest..or indeed any of the big national companies but get some quotes in from a few local companies instead (usually will be a few ads in the local papers to get you started). Local carpenters or builders (or anyone with carpentry skills) may also do the job for you.
Make sure whoever you use replaces the old fascias/soffits rather than covering over the top. I think we paid roughly £20 per metre of roofline about a year ago which was to remove old, slide up the tiles, fit plastic boards to replace the rotting sarking felt (roof felt around the edge that overlaps into the gutters), fit new uPVC soffits and fascias with continuous ventilation strip above the fascias with bird comb plus new gutters. They also trimmed the roof timbers where necessary and jacked up the external overhanging corners of the roof that were sagging.
Which area are you in as i can recommend a good company if your in south-east kent area ?
Dear Andrew
I am in the southeast Kent area (Orpington) so please provide your recommendation. I had a very bad experience with a company that was suppose to be local (check my 1st post) and I'm very wary of a repeat!
If you don't mind me asking, How much did the work on your property cost?0 -
Dont go with Everest, they are one of the most expensive companies out there go for a local firm ask around for references from friends neighbours
I think it cheaper for a new roof than some of these roof lining anyway
I'm looking to avoid that if possible! and please see my reply to Andrew on why I'm worried about picking someone out of an add0 -
If the water is getting onto the timbers now, then it will continue to wet the PVCu. It has to be worth stripping back 2-3 roof tiles right across and replacing membrane and battons as a part of the job. The new membrane is then overlapping the edge of the tile and into the gutter maikng the whole thin waterproof. Old bitumen felt tends to rot near to the gutters as this area stay wetter for longer. £40 a mtr for higher quality product as PVCu does dry and get brittle and dull much faster than admitted as it is not UV stable.0

Dear Knowloads
would the £40/meter cover the whole operation? including the stripping the roof tiles and replacing the membrane and battons?
do you have any recommendation of a good company (national or local) who would do such work?0 -
I paid £1750 on a 2-bed semi-detached bungalow..so i owe you an apology as it was about £50 a metre as total length was 35metres..not sure where i got the £20 figure from!!! If it's a house you'll need scaffolding/scaffold tower but probably not as far to cover so price should be similar.
Not sure if they cover upto your area as it's about 60 mile journey but we used these (i lived in your area most my life! small world). Not sure of other companies more local as family haven't had this done so can't really recommend others..maybe sutton windows who have show room on the high street. Are there any companies on the nugent industrial estate or along cray avenue..not sure but have a look in the newshopper.
I'll have a look at the company you mentioned, some one recommended Puma PVC if you heard about them. I didn't think about sutton as they are windows specialist but can give them a try.
There are a number of diy companies along cray avenue but not sure of any building/roofing companies
thanks for the recommendation0 -

did that and the roof now is as good as new
did it for £1750 inc VAT with a SouthEast based company called Puma PVC, great work, 10 year guarantee, really proper tradesmen! Highly recommended :j0
