I've just bought an ipod from Apple's clearance store (£79). In addition I want to buy a docking station but would like one with a radio; any suggestions?

As always the watchword is 'value for money.'

    Not really!

I've carried out a few Google searches myself and also came across this little product. I was put of by a number of the reviews and also by the fact that I couldn't find a manufacturers name. Maybe Play.com have it produced and slap their own label on but if they're advertising the product without a name I would be cautious.

It has just occurred to me though that in my original post I said 'docking station with radio'. I shouldn't have said that, I should perhaps have said a docking station that will play the ipods inbuilt radio well.

There are of course a large selection of ipod docking stations on Amazon and that gives a good indication of what is available, price range etc. but it's really personal recommendations that I'm after. People who have bought docking stations and can give a good account of them, and as I listen to the radio quite regularly I'm especially interested in how well the inbuilt radio sounds.

Also, I should have added in my original post that I wouldn't want to exceed £60 unless I was getting a very good deal.

Hi there, I have a Logitech Purefi for my ipod touch. It has inbuilt radio and comes with a dinky remote control for changing tracks etc. It also has a battery that powers the clock if you unplug it from the mains. You can get it from play for approx £37. Only one review but I would recommend it! :)

An ipod relies on its headphone lead as an aerial.
The use of a docking station disables this.
Assuming you have a 5th gen ipod nano then in my experiance the radio is pretty naff.

Pure have a good range of radios with ipod docks.

I have just bought an Ipod docking station with DAB and FM radio from John Lewis for £40. It is out of stock but you can order it.
