OK, another update incase this helps anyone else.

I finally accepted the £999 Credit Note from HomeServe as it's their final response and I really wouldn't be bothered with this dragging on and on but I have also put in a complaint with the Finance Company who technically still own my suite, which now has a screw/bold sticking out of it about an inch in the centre frame, about 6 or 7 springs actually touching the underside of the leather/pvc and the pvc really peeling now in all areas... piece of cheap, dangerous crap!

Anyway... I've put the fact that I am now out of pocket even though I'd never planned on buying a new suite for at least 6 years and also complained that Creation Finance told me to get the report done, so they've agreed but without admission to any liability that they will reimburse me £120 of the £200 I paid for the misold insurance with HomeServe and they will also refund me the cost of the report. So thankfully there are some employee's of these companies out there who sympathise and are willing to help. Their "policies" went out the window with the amount of conflicting evidence I gathered from them all and the fact I was proven by a specialist to have been misold the suite and the insurance!

So if your affect, just complain, complain, threaten with the Financial Ombudsman (which is free) and then complain some more!
