How much have/will you spend today Friday 8/9?

Good morning guys!

Gloriously sunny down here :D So glad the weekend is here (sorry to those that work at weekends :o )

Got a busy day ahead. Work, then 2 mystery shopping exercises then possibly some top up food shopping and then making dinner for a couple of friends. They are brining the alcohol and I already have the majority of food so it should be a lovely evening! ;)

I don't think I will be spending any money today (food comes out of joint account and I only count my personal spending) but I need to see what the mystery shopping requirements are.

Hope you are all having a good and moneysaving day wherever you are!

I want to make an extra special 'congratulations on your pay-rise' dinner for my OH, but the Sainsbury's website is showing a boring selection of uninspiring special offers, so am expecting it to cost about £8-9 for a 3 course (garlic mushrooms, chicken stirfry, desert) dinner. On the plus side, Sainsburys have cheap french fries (crisps) and they're my little favourite.

    Today is a naughty-spend day ;)
  • Ive just came off nightshift and so far spent £86 on concert tickets for pu$$ycat dolls but will get £60 back off friends so thats alright. Going out for a few drinks tonight but taking the car got a budget of £10 but hoping not to spend all of that :)

I like this thread - it keeps me aware of my spending without having to do a 'diary'.
Today's spend will be £3.94 to the milkman for the 8 pints of milk that he has delivered this week.
Yes, I totally agree that it is economic madness to be paying 49p a pint for something that you can get for less than half of this price at the Supermarket.
We probably use 20 - 24 pints of milk a week and most is indeed purchased at Tesco/Asda. We used to have 4 pints a day delivered, so we have cut down drastically on this 'extravagance'. The only justification I can think of, for continuing to purchase from the milkman is that he is regular (4 a.m. every day) and it means that we are never completely out of milk. Yes, there is a convenience store at the end of the road, but the shopkeeper is a miserable old scroat and actually charges 2p a pint more.
Also our milkman is a decent bloke.

  • Hmmm... Made lunch today, but ate half of it by 10:30 - hopefully I'll be able to make the other half last long enough that I won't need to snack, Should be a no-spender. Tis the only problem with cycling - I keep wanting to eat!
