Hiya we were with scotish power fr our gas and electricbut our bill went upto £212 a month so we applied to swap and go with Eon who said could do our bill for £185 a month.
Last night scotish poiwer knocked and said they have gone cheaper and if we stay with them our bill could be as little as £95 for both as we only use that amount of gas and electric past 3 months< we know in the winter it went higher and they say the £212 was overpayments from that.
Im now lost and unsure what to do we are about to move with Eon as paperwork been done and now scottish power have said we have upto 7 days to change our mind or stay with them
this is all so confusing whos best for North West Uk ( Liverpool) if anybody knows or has any advice appreciated
thanks Helen x

POUNDS PER MONTH is a total red herring. You need to put how many kWh PER YEAR you use into one of the comparison sites to find out who will be cheapest for you. ALL of the companies will tell you they can do it for less per month to get you hooked.

Hi Hsl500 - Accepting quotes based on the sales pitch of "With us your D/Debits will be less", is a real sucker punch that usually leads to a big bill in the future because your D/D's are set too low to pay for what you use over a year.

You must take control of your energy bills now !
Go thro' your past years bills and add up how many Kw you have used of Elec & Gas.
It's likely that the bills won't cover an exact 365 days, so add up the number of days they cover and add or subtract the daily use on the last bill to get your consumption over a year.

Enter these figures into the switchwithwhich web site, which will not only come up with prices from other suppliers, but has a 'compare tariff ' option that will show you the full details and annual cost of a new suppliers tariff, directly alongside the full details and annual cost of your present supplier

If you can't find your latest years bills, contact your supplier who will tell you how much energy you have used in the last 12 months (assuming you've been with them for at least 12 months)
