OP why don't you order on-line from maplins or amazon - or even pc world?

Chances are you'd have had the battery by now.

A "stretch" is putting it mildly. The OP is interested in getting his battery not going on a spurious crusade against PC World.

I agree, maybe its a cartel of the electronics companies to restrict the supply of replacement batteries to force us to buy new products! We must contact the competition commission immediatly!

It beyond a stretch so its of little worth mentioning it now when its more than unlikely. Rather its worth mentioning the likely resolution and then if later, more info comes to light, adjust the advice.

    The question was:
Is there any legislation against a retail company providing bad service?

I answered - accurately I think. I also think I was clear in adding the appropriate caveats. It seems that I upset some posters by mentioning other aspects that might have been overlooked, the service angle for example where the above poster seemed unaware that PC World offers services. I will not restrict advice to my assumptions which might be incorrect due to an absence of data.

I see no competition law angle though, unless you can explain the art 101/102 prohibitions that apply? Or is your sarcasm an attempt to misdirect?

Just a thought - given that this is OP's first post, it is four days old, and OP hasn't come back to the thread, or made any further posts, there is at least a possibility that this is a troll thread.

Why is getting a refund on the laptop not an option?
