DSA Application questions

HI all,
I applied for DSA, and was told my 2003 dyslexia assessment is too old and to get another one. I'm still trying to organise that but am likely to have to wait til I start my course so I can get the money via the Access to Learning fund to pay for my test.

In the meantime,
My GP has written a letter which has been sent off, detailing the fact I've a long documented history of
Dyslexia
Dyspraxia
Dyscalcula
ADHD
Anxiety disorders
Aspergers
Bad athsma which is along the lines of COPD.

How far will this letter get me? Also, what are the rough timescales? I sent this letter off first class recorded yesterday. How long til I hear back and maybe get a needs assessment?
