Can you recommend an Economy 7 immersion controller?

I live in Shetland where there is no gas so all our hot water comes from an immersion heater. The tank has two elements, one for standard rate electricity and one for Economy 7 and there is a programmable controller unit that switches the right one on at the appropriate time(s).
The controller unit is on its last legs. It's a Schlumberger Sangamo and must be 20 years old. It's a complete pig to set and I would like to replace it with something that is more user-friendly.
Has anybody got any suggestions about what unit to go for?
Thanks
Andrew

Hi,
this is one example,
is your standard rate also on a timer, or just the Economy 7?0 -
The house has two meters and the electricity board send a signal down the cable to tell it which meter to use. As a result the Economy 7 times aren't totally predictable. For example, if they have a surfeit of generating capacity in the afternoon then you might get an hour of Economy 7 then.[Deleted User] wrote:is your standard rate also on a timer, or just the Economy 7?0 -
Hi,
have a wee look at some of these, timer doesn't have to be an E7 timer, they can be quite expensive, you just need a timer of correct rating that can be set to the times that suit your cheap rate.0 -
Thanks for the replies.
A question for those in a similar position to me. Do you have a controller that is on all the time when the E7 rate is on or do you have a timer set for periods within that? Which do you prefer?0
