HTML Help

Could anyone do me a huge favour and take a look at the html code for one of my eBay auctions? The problem I have is that I'm inserting an excel table (converted to htm) into my description, listing the items for sale in the lot, but for some reason this has resulted in the page needing to be scrolled along the bottom, like it would if the table was too wide, even though the table is just the right size to be viewable on a normal explorer window.

I'd rather not put up the url publically, but if you think can help at all please PM me and I will give you the code, or a link to the auction.

Any help massively appreciated!

  • Or I've just thought maybe someone could help without the need to look at my code. When you save a table created in excel to htm and then upload it to a web page, if this scrolling problem occurs (which it has done for me everytime by default) is there a way to change settings in excel to prevent this happening? I am saving just the columns that are filled in, and the table is 6 columns wide.
  • I'm not sure about the specific settings in HTML, but when I've done similar things (in Excel -> HTML), I also found odd niggles also. I've moved onto using Open Office spreadsheet, and although I do the same as what I did in Excel, the HTML works without a problem. Also the HTML that Open Office produces is much easier to work through.
  • Thanks, I will give open office a try at some point, but I was hoping to correct this using excel though to be honest, as my item is already listed and I'm not sure I'll have enough time to download/install open office
  • Hi,

What is the listing number of where your table resides, I am happy to provide the code to you to recreate the table in HTML.

    Regards
