I agree!! SCAM!!
stay away! best thing to do to avoid this is state that you will only send items to the country's you have listed and addresses stated on ebay!
Glad you spotted it before going ahead wiv transaction!

there were two scammers bidding against each other, what prats, i hate them.
The next legit bidder is like £100 pounds down the bids, anyway I have given the legit looking ebayer the second chance option, anyone have experience of the 2nd chance option.
Are these prats going to ruin ebay?
Im really mad0 -
Does anyone else know how this works as these people have tried to contact me several times?
From what I could gather they send you an email that is supposed to be an official email from Western Union telling you that the money has been approved and you are to post the item - I guess some people fall for it and post the item and never see the money? thats just my theory but these people are really annoying, can't ebay do something?
Its sad cos there are probably lots of African people who would like to buy stuff off ebay but no-one will send anything to them now!!
And very annoying too!!Official DFW Nerd 210

It's not in Ebay's interest to do anything about it, they are purely profit driven, as long as they get their fee's they are happy, they aren't prepared to invest time or money looking into things like this....

okay, thanks adam! but is anyone else still confused? i'm seeming to catch the drift of whats going on but missing the point completely -- i'm sure its just me thats still befuddled but can anyone give me a simple translation??

its simple really, the other guy guessed it
They offer payment
you receive a fairly genuine looking 'payment pending' email
a few hours later a 'payment cleared' email
could be from western union/ whatever
buyer says that payment will be sent tracked and only gives out tracking number when they receive a valid tracking number from you (i.e. you post and never hear from them again!)
seller thinks the official payment cleared email is enough and posts the item
the end
morale of the story NEVER POST AN ITEM UNLESS YOU HAVE THE CASH IN YOUR HANDS. PAYPAL CAN AND WILL REMOVE MONEY OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT AT ANY TIMEmoney saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)
