Problem Laminate

 Anyone had problems laying HOMEBASE laminate flooring?
Just spent £300 on their 12mm commercial grade/bathroom grade.
It's a "click" system and altough I've laid 4 rooms before with other brands I cannot get this to click togther without accidentaLLY unclicking the bit I've just laid.
It's as if the ends of the boards aren't 100% square, so wehn you lay them end to end, the total piece isn;t then truly straight. When you then stagger the joint with the adjacent board, it won't line up, becasue it IS straight.
I'm a very competant DIY type but this stuff is driving me nuts! I think it will be very hard to prove to Hoembase that it's faulty!
Any ideas?
cheers moneysavers! and down with homebase

Maybe it's just not a very good product? Or as you say, if the ends don't look completely square, perhaps they aren't and it's faulty? If you can't sort it out I'd take an open pack back to homebase and demonstrate to them the problem that you are having and ask them what to do about it.0

Had similar thing with laminate from Wickes. Laid batch in my house - perfectly fine, helped friend two months later to do his floor - complete mess -uneven edges, different widths in the same packs, different thickness of tongues.. absolute nightmare.0

I have used the Homebase 12mm kitchen and bathroom laminate and had great difficulty starting it off. I didn't have a problem with edges not being square, but I had to practice for sometime before I could consistently put the pieces together. I could only get the pieces to slide down in one direction. If I slid the short end with the groove over the tongue it worked. I could not slid the tongue into the groove, the pieces either came apart or would not line up.0

Thnaks to all who rerpsonded.
Took sample boards back to Homebase and even with 3 staff trying to lay the stuff at once it wasn't happening.
They reckone some baords are warped, and being 12mm, no amount of brute force will click them in. They tried another pack in the store & they seemed much easier, so they did a swap.
Slightly better progress back at home, then hit another dodgy batch.
Hats off to Homebase, offered full refund upen return of stuff, even though some boards had [pipe cutouts etc!
Also gave me 20% discount voucher for all the hassle.
Now bought a 8mm board which looks easier - wish me luck!0
