Debit card fraud

Hi,
After checking my online account today I noticed £41.64 debited from 'Sky Subscription' with an old sky phone number above it which they don't use anymore (this was a debit card payment not direct debit)
I phoned sky who informed me they only charge under 'Sky Digital' so probably wasn't them and advised I phone my bank.
I have done this and they've cancelled my card and passed onto the fraud department.
Just wondering if anyones had this happen before and does it sound like fraud?
In addition my Sky subscription is direct debit and comes out of a different account !!
Thanks for any help folks...

The only thing I can think of that might come up with such a payment is for breakdown insurance for the Sky box. There are a number of companies out there that provide such insurance and some will claim to be part of or authorised by Sky.
The only one that is is called Sky Protect (aka Domestic & General).
Have a look back over any paperwork you have received over the years regarding insurance for your Sky box and work from there.
Other than that, I haven't got a clue.Remember this: nothing worth doing is easy.0 -

........... or think back over any 'phone calls regarding maintenance of the box? I'm getting them at the rate of several a month at the moment - all claiming to be from Sky, yet having no intelligence other than my address. When pressed they will either put the 'phone down or admit to being from Sky Lite (?). If you're unwise enough to part with card details - then you know the rest!If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
