This prompted me to have a look as it sounds interesting - it's happening on the 16th of August this year. The website keeps going on about 15th August, but that's not the applicable date this year! Here's a link to Slane Castle which has some information about it:

SnowyOwl, I have just been on to the organisers....it is sunday the 15th August thats the Free day!!...

It apparently coincides with a holy day, and its the castles 250th anniversary.

Thank you mumoffour77! I got confused because some of the links are still referencing last year's event.... this year's fete and holy day are indeed on Sunday 15th August! Thanks for checking it for me, I thought I was going potty...

Thanks mumoffour77 i most sit down tonight and take a look.

I can't believe the kids are half way through their summer holidays.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.
    :j :j
  • I was at the Ulster Museum today for first time since its re-furb. I was so impressed and the kids LOVED it!
