I know that Portrush has it's fireworks display this Saturday, which is free.
I wondered if anyone else had heard of other free events or days out, i am looking mostly things to keep the kids entertained over the summer holidays.:D
Any suggestions would be great...

I know there is a Fair Day in Ballywalter and one in Portaferry on Tuesday. However not sure what exactly will be there.0

If you give the Tourist Information Centre in Newry a ring they will post you out a "What's On" leaflet which covers the Newry & Mourne area for the rest of the year. You might find something suitable worth the trip down.
There's the Fiddler's Green festival in Rostrevor coming up soon which has a host of activities for children:

took the wee man to Lagan Valley Leisureplex in Lisburn for the fun pool etc in the swimmers, he's 4 didn't get charged for him, only had to pay for me
also booked tix for Toy Story 3 for Tuesday - £2.50 for the 3d film, seems to be all day Tuesday and considering its the 3d one thats a bargain in my book!Norn Iron Club Member #64

Free Day out in slane castle on the 15th August......
Displays of dragon dances.....pony and trap rides.....oh and tours of the castle on the day are free too.....they are celebrating their 250th year!!
There is a small charge for car parking on the day!!!
Pack the kids in the car & a picnic.........it looks to be a great day...
