Got veg and slow cooker now what?

Options
Can anyone help me please. I have only used my slow cooker for rice pudding and really need to use it more. I have a stew pack of vegetables in the fridge and would like some advice on what to do next. Need to make dinner tomorrow night for me,OH,and 2 little ones. Im vegetarian but rest of family are not which make dinners a bit difficult. They have had 2 lots of meat this week so a veggie recipe would be fine. Please keep it simple Im still learning:o

    Hi pjs,

There are a few vegetarian recipes in the slow cooker collection Here

There are also some links on these threads that might help:

that for reply. Excuse me for being thick but can I just chop it and throw it in and add stock? What about the onion does that need cooking beforehand. I Was gonna make some dumplings too I think these go on near the end of cooking is that correct?

Yep, chop and stock, but onions are better fried beforehand. Put your dumplings in 30 minutes before the end, just on top of the liquid.

I love slowcooker food - the textures change and the flavours mingle in a way that other cooking methods don't give. Ideal if you like smooth soup like me because it's so easy to blend afterwards. I use leftover sauce in the SC as a base for soup.

I have put it all in. I made the dumplings they are in the fridge ready for OH to put in when he gets home from work as I will be taking little monster to her swimming lessons. Looking forward to a nice cheap and healthy dinner when we return ( I hope!) Thanks for your help you are a star.

    Have a look here.

It's not vegetarian, but I sure as hell got a lot of questions answered. :D
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.
