Help with disc drive

When I put a blank CD-R into my disc drive an error message comes up saying:-
d:\is not accessible.
Incorrect function
I have burned unto CD's before.
If I put in a game or music CD it recognises it OK.
Can someone help?

how old is the drive and have you tried a lens cleaner?0

Found the problem
Right-clicked the drive and selected properties, in one of the tabs I ticked write to this drive, and it fixed the problemMac0
