Quick question about Peas

Hi All,
Quick question, I have some peas in my garden that are cropping nicely, but now I have another patch come free with no plans for anything to go in it. I was wondering whether it would be too late to pop a few peas in there and get a successful crop from them ?
Has anybody had any success planting so late? Thanks

You might just get away with it if you sow an early variety. Might get mildew but nothing ventured ...0

Give it a go, worst thing that can happen is that it doesn't work. That may be so but at least you will have tried.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Try an early variety with mildew resistance - Kelvedon Wonder, for example.
Good luck!0 -
Give it a try, taking into account the advice given above, and what's the worst that can happen - you can be the one giving advice to someone asking the same thing next year :T"Your life is what your thoughts make it"

I don't know what variety your peas are but I sowed a succession row of Kelvendon Wonder about 3 weeks ago and already the first flowers are showing. I sowed another row about 6 days ago and the shoots are already peeking through so if you sow now you should just manage a crop although the weather may be more unreliable in your neck of the woods. This variety are a shorter variety than some of the others and are supposed to be good for a late crop. It's many years since I last grew peas so I'm hoping for some further crops.0

Thank you for all of your replies, I think I will give it a go at the weekend.
Somebody asked what variety I plant, and I do have a confession, I just plant BIGGA dried peas from tesco and they always come out fine and are much cheaper than buying seeds, I was just unsure on if I would get away with it so late.
Thank you for your brilliant advice, it may work, it may not, nothing ventured nothing gained0
