Part-time HE Funding

Hi,

My sister is thinking of doing a part-time HNC at a local college. However, she is unsure about the funding aspect.

She would be entitled to the fullest amount possible- we are sure of that.

But, how long does it take to process a claim given that September is fast approaching? If the tuition funding does not come through before the course starts in early September will she be allowed to enrol?

Funding for PT students is a little different to the funding for FT students. Has she checked the eligibility of her course etc... for funding? The basics can be found HERE
As for whether she'd be able to enrol without confirmation of funding it would depend on the college, many allow you to pay fees in installments.

Because part-time HE students have to have been on the course for at least 2 weeks before they can apply for funding, students must apply for their course and enrol on their course before they have any confirmation of the funding they are entitled to.

Do colleges expect any kind of payment at enrolment?

we expect at least 25% of the fees at enrolment, but it's down to the individual college
