HELP-I cant launch IE8

I lost the ability to launch IE8 using a shortcut and therefore reinstalled it.I have done a series of removing and reinstalling this beast but now need to turn to your expertise for guidance. There are no short cuts,I cant find IE8 on Start-programs and yet it can be uninstalled using revo.I can live without this browser but other software applications rely on it.Do youm have any ideas?

  • you should be able to find the .exe file if it is still installed, its called IEXPLORE.EXE
    Friendly greeting!
  • Hi,

did a wee search, is this any help,

The executable for IE8 32-bit is located here:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

The executable for IE8 64-bit is located here:

    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

Browse to the proper Program Files folder and create a clearly-marked desktop (or Start menu) shortcut to each particular version of iexplore.exe.

Right click on iexplore.exe and then click Create Shortcut. It should offer you the option to place it on your desktop, click yes.
