Am looking for ideas where I could park a car overnight (Sat-Sun) cheaply in central Glasgow. Have looked at NCP but they charge a fortune :(

street parking in town is free after 6 pm.
    and all of sunday anyway.
but you have to read the hours carefully at the pay and display machines first to be sure it applies to the spot you choose.

Thanks wolfehouse. It would be from Sat morning though, which would push the price up. :(

you can park by glasgow green near the people's palace for free.
It is a 10 minute walk to argyle street
they have redesigned it so research a bit about the way to get to the parking spots.
i wouldn't leave it overnight there though, just because of security.

Depends how central it has to be. The lower end of Gt Western Road and then any of the streets on the right going in the Maryhill direction. There are a lot with no parking restrictions.

I find that sheet of card, approx 12" x 4" with "Undertaker On Call" in bold 20 point type is ideal to leave on the dashboard in case anyone gets nosey.

Just an update, in case anyone is interested. :) Parked in the Q Park in Waterloo St, and it cost me £7 from Sat morning to Sunday afternoon.

Wow that's great - thanks for the tip.

I recently had to move my car from Buchanan Galleries, drive round and go back in because that way it worked out at around £5. If I had left it there for the 6 hours it would have been £12.40.

This MSE thing can be a pain sometimes!

    It's ridiculous, isn't it!

Q-Park is £3.50 all day Sat and Sunday, that's why it worked out so reasonable for me.

Buchanan Galleries used to be too expensive for me- Concert Square was far cheaper in that area of town.

Q Park in St Enoch is also cheaper than Waterloo Street and 24/7 exit.
