Cracks in external walls

Hi,

I am after some advice about cracks in my outer walls. The house is a semi with cavity walls. I have noticed that there are cracks along some of the walls (between the bricks in the mortar) and in some places have actually split the bricks into two. I am not sure how long this has been like this as we have not had the house for long.
I did not really notice this when we bought it and our basic survey did not pick anything up, but i am a little concerned about this.

Any suggestions or advice would be most appreciated...

Basic surveys will give you a rough price for the property but thats about it.
How old is the house? Does the other half of the house have the same? If so then try speaking to your nieghbours and see what they say about them regarding how long they have been there etc.

Well this is the unusal bit, the house next door does not seem to have any cracks at all, but the house on the other side of us (not attached to ours) does have a t least one large crack, where you can clearly see the gaps in the mortar.

I am wondering if i should get someone to look at this, but as we don't have much money, i can't afford to pay much.
