Lease extension Do I do it now or wait ? Advice please!!

I have an urgent decision to make and no knowledge of the implications do I extend the lease on my flat now or wait.
Lease is down to 68 years I am not planning to sell in the near future.
I've already had all the surveys lawyers negotiations etc
Not getting a very good deal but is it ok to sink 12,000 - 14,000 of my savings (which was meant to be deposit on next home) now or do I wait ??
Flat valued at around 130,000 with current lease my surveyor said 9,450 to extend for an additional 90 years freeholder came back with more finally settled (without going to formal negotiation) to split the difference at 10,650
Long term plan keep this flat to rent and out and buy next one to live in (thanks to inheritance from my grandma)
Need to decide in next day or so
Any advice greatly appreciated

If you have incurred survey/solicitors fees, why waste them by not proceeding ?
It will only cost more, the shorter the lease becomes.
They will have you over a barrel, if something alters later in life to require a rapid sale/extension.
Assume you have checked lease that you are allowed to rent it out ?0 -
Thanks that is very useful I seem to have just a little knowledge (which is a dangerous thing) and have been reading other peoples posts which were slightly different cases to mine and getting conflicting info.
True If anything changes I could be in a big mess!
Lease has been checked and is fine for rental am also the last owner occupier in the building.
One other thing though as I'm planning to rent it out as soon as I find a flat (hopefully in the next 6 months) I've heard that if you extend the lease while the place is rented out you can write the cost off capital gains tax when you eventually sell do you know anything about this and is it worth waiting for this reason.0
