Moving flat and setting up phone

Hello all,

Sorry if this has previously been answered but I'm a bit confused. I'm moving into a new flat and want to arrange to set up a phone line for as soon as I move in so I can get broadband up and running.

I don't have a phone number to take with me from my current place as I'm just lodging. Looking at Martin's guide on line rental it seems like Primus Saver would work out cheapest for me. However in order to sign up they need the phone number. I know there is definitely a line installed but I'm not sure how to get hold of the number?

Do I need to get BT to activate the line? If the line is installed and already activated can I ask them for the phone number and use that to give to Primus Saver? Seems very complicated to me!

Any help that anyone can give would be great.
