Web hosting with ISP

There was a time when most internet service providers would offer 'free' hosting wasn't there?! They always offered some email addresses, some web space, and x amount of download. I know I remember right, but now i want to change provider, but need to take my website with me, no-one seems to offer space.
What happened? Does anyone know of a good deal for internet with web space?

You really shouldn't be basing your choice of ISP on whether or not they provide free web space.
FWIW you get free webspace with Virgin Media (at least on cable anyway) and for my needs they are an excellent ISP. For yours they may not be of course.0
