I'm sure someone can come along and recommend a few good free downloadable games (I don't play them that often apart from poker).

I like to play flash games on the net (no need to download anything). Try...

yep that's a very good one - free due to the US government wanting more people in the force, so the brought out a free game - a bit like battlefield in it's genre and style.
  • If you don't mind playing online, go for the sites such as cartoonnetwork.com as they have loads of free playable games online (due to the fact they want children to pester parents into buying related games for their PC's and consoles and keep watching the cartoons on the tv). The games are actually quite good but you can't download them, you have to play them online. Lots to choose from too
  • There is lots of free software including games here: http://www.windowsmarketplace.com/

You have to try and filter the free ones out but there are plenty of good ones in there :)
  • Hey steve thanks! iv downloaded a few things but how do i go about playing the game, ive clicked the folder and theres so many smaller files contained within it which one do i click to play?

Another vote for America's Army. Well worth the download. For a free game, it beats the pants off plenty of the more expensive titles available, although you will need a fast connection to play online, and 512Mb RAM wouldn't go amiss.

Which I've never understood: why would they want to hire kids who spend all day in their parents' basement playing computer games and rarely do anything more strenuous than opening the fridge :) ?

But the subliminal inserts in the game will make them prime killing sponges for the US Government. Half the basic training completed before they start.
The mind control implants they inserted at birth are only programmed to work once the title music for AA plays, and from there, the online network becomes a farm for growing the ultimate, a nation who willingly do the spook's bidding.

    It's very simple really ;)
