Effect

I have split up with my partner. How is this going to effect Inome support? How much Income support, if I am 25 and on DLA? Will it effect DLA as I make mention of partner on the form, get help from partner.

My head is totally screwed, partner dealt with money ie pay things. I have no idea, never have. Just been eating sandwiches also, cooking a no no.

Ended up going for a walk in eary hours and fell asleep outside in the poring rain.

Mood/voices been getting bad for a few months, however this recent thing has just pushed me to the brink.

The Ex. The split I am happy with, however the manner! total head screw. That and the fact my voices have been pretty bad in recent time, well.. As a result my mood has been in decline and this added thing has just made me so ...

Hi Bryando - You sound like you are going through a tough time at the moment - do you have any good friends or family members that you can talk to. Also are you getting help and support for your 'voices' - maybe you should put a call in to whoever looks after this matter and tell them you need some support at the moment.

Dont worry about all the finances - there are many organisations that will help you - maybe call the CAB and explain that you need some help quickly.

Your DLA claim is personal to you, so it will not be affected by your split up. With the regards any other benefits, call the CAB or local welfare rights and ask an advisor for assistance.

The main thing is to look after yourself - try and get someone to talk to - and i really hope the upheaval will be sorted quickly and that you start to feel better and stronger soon. Take Care x

To receive DLA, the help needs to be reasonable - you don't actually have to be getting the help.

The severe disability payment is given to those on mid or high rate care and no-one is claiming carers allowance for them and tey're classed as living alone.

Hi the only benefit that cant be quoted is IS as it is a circs fitted benefit and lots of factors can change it.Try not to worry too much about that though as all your benefits will be sorted out for you.In most claims now they do a gather of info over the phone so you are taken through the claim. If you feel that you cant manage that you can have someone who you trust to make the call for you mainly the benefits agent will just ask you to say yes this person can talk on your behalf although tech it doesn't matter as you/friend are giving the DWP info and not the other way around so no data protection is compromised. If you get a difficult member of staff who tries to tell you this is incorrect which its not just hang up and start again there are thousands of staff who take calls in virtual benefits now.
Above all please ask for help be it from friends family or help groups and GP dont suffer on ur own you dont need to and you matter too much for that . sending you a hug K
