Change counting machines in banks?
Comments
-
They are in larger branches of some of the banks - HSBC and Natwest for certain, probably some others.
They don't charge - but they do require that the money is deposited into your account. They don't change it as such0 -
Am shamelessly copying this in from another thread i found on this subject - it's from Barclays, detailing which branches have the machines-none of which are near me - sob

Thank you for your email

No none near me either:( They must be a bit slow working themselves up to the North East:mad:0
-
HSBC in Bracknell have them, what a godsend!! No more waiting to see a huffy cashier who doesn't want my coppers!!!0

The counting machines fees are too high. There are ones in Morrisons too, they charge 8%.Total debt at lightbulb moment (Jan 2010): £23410
Target for Dec 2011: £17000
Lloyds - Early Jan: £[STRIKE]2040[/STRIKE] Feb: £[STRIKE]2050[/STRIKE] Mar: £0
Other Lloyds @ highest: £9800 Feb: £9800
Current debt: £234200 -
There is one fly in the ointment - at some (not all) of the branches where they have these machines they seem to have done away with counter service altogether - they (and similar machines for notes and cheques) are the only way of paying in and ATMs are the only way of getting money out.
I suspect there are 'special arrangements' but they are not obviously on view.0
