Campsite in Norfolk?

Feeling cheesed off as it looks like we'll be camping again this summer....:D...that's a gritted teeth smiley! Every year I say 'never again', but needs must and the rest of the family love it.

Can anyone recommend a quiet campsite in Norfolk with outstanding toilet facilities? We usually prefer sites with no entertainment/ play/ areas/shop but with space for running around instead. We don't need electric hook-up as my OH won't entertain the idea of a fridge:(.

You could also try HighSands in Stiffkey. It's a quiet site with good basic facilities. It overlooks salt marshes to the sea and the coast path goes right by the campsite. The Red Lion pub which does decent food at reasonable prices is a short walk (10 mins?) and just a couple of minutes further in Stiffkey is a nice coffee shop/provisions shop.

Also very near nice beaches at Wells, Brancaster etc

It's something of a favourite with Noroflk and Suffolk camping friends we know.

    Hi

We have stayed at Rose Farm, Belton, Great Yarmouth, this was about 3 or 4 years ago now.

It was a lovely site and although it was quite full at the time, we were not on top of each other.

I think it was about 5/10 mins in the car to Great Yarmouth.

Its a site without entertainment - thats our preferance, and I dont remember it being very expensive for pitches.

Thankyou, all:T. They all look worthy of consideration, with good reviews. I will sit down with OH and do more research into the area later on.

I'll second this. We stayed last summer and couldn't fault it.
  • Pinewoods at Wells-next-to-the sea is lovely, as is North Norfolk

http://www.deepdalefarm.co.uk/camping/index.asp been here several times. has power showers and they're of the walk-in shower room type. it's v popular so you'd need to book in advance, and has an award-winning youth hostel next door. campsite has great facilities: net use, walking guides, decent local-produce cooked cafe.. and the setting is great to visit loads of beautiful villages from hunstanton to cromer (where i visited 2yrs ago)
