gizmoleeds wrote:Yep - thats exactly it. Shops usually offer a percentage of the sale value - for example you can 6% of anything you spend at hmv.co.uk back - while some companies, such as insurance providers, offer a much larger fixed amount back.
The only catch is that quidco keep the first £5 of cashback you earn each year as an admin fee. There are other cashback sites on the web without admin fees but they always have much lower cashback rates.
The money which you are getting is an advertiser's commission. Most internet advertising works on a commission basis you see, so websites advertise a particular company and get a percentage of any sales made by people who click the advert. Quidco just give the money to you instead.

Don't be too quick to judge jonny5, I've made hundreds on quidco from gamble site sign-ups only. Usually you need to wager about a tenner to get cashback (often up to £50) so it really is a win-win situation. Hit the roulette table, play on odds or evens, or black/reds, bet a tenner (in one pound bets), withdraw a tenner (usually more if you don't get sucked in) and get paid up to £50 for the privilege!
Even if you lose your deposited money, you still win. Not one single gamble site has not paid the cashback. They all paid up. And more often than not, I made a bit of profit on the deposit too.

I got paid from bingos (twice - two separate accounts) - suppose there will always be the odd bad experience. I always clear my cookies before signing up via quidco, even if I'm sure I've not been on the site before.0

Just download this tiny free program and run it whenever you want. It cleans everything off your PC (you can choose what you want it to remove or leave) - cleans all history, cookies, last programs opened, anything you want at the click of the mouse.

It's called CCleaner (Crap Cleaner)
1.5 million downloads and an average rating of 4.5/5 can't be wrong. It is the business.
Makes your PC run faster too. Everyone should have it!0 -
If anyone's planning on signing up to any gamble sites for cashback on quidco, one thing to check before you deposit/play on roulette, etc, is the minimum withdrawal limit. It's normally £10 but sometimes as high as £25, so bear that in mind.
My strategy (which tends to work most of the time) is to deposit about 150% of the minimum amount specified by the site on quidco so you're not taking the mick and they shouldn't be able to wriggle out of paying cashback (eg. £15 if they say they'll give you cashback for gambling £10), then play on roulette in the following way: bet a couple of quid on something with a 50/50 chance of winning (eg. black/red/odds/evens) and also put a pound on your lucky number. You've got a 50/50 chance of getting £4 back if the £2 bet comes in, so on average your £15 should last 30 spins or something like that. You've got a 1 in 34 chance of your lucky number coming in, and if it does you'll get £35. JUST MAKE SURE YOU WITHDRAW AT THIS POINT!! Then you can enjoy some winnings as well as some free cashback.
Yes, you might end up losing your £15 but the cashback is more so you've still made a profit.
I'm not intending to encourage gambling but I always find it's a bit of a laugh and you know you're getting the cashback so provided you don't get over-excited you can't really lose.0 -
i'v only got a grand total of about £40 since july
