Cut into thick slices, drizzle with a bit of olive oil, then sprinkle parmesan over & bake in oven for about 15-20 (with something else, otherwise not very OS!)

Scrummy with soup on a cold summer day!

I had some granary breadcrumbs in the freezer and used them to make a treacle tart, gave a nice flavour and interesting texture!

I always use Granary bread to make Mushroom Bake! Make a mixture of granary breadcrumbs (about 6 slices), 1 chopped onion and some grated cheese to use as the top and bottom layer of the bake. The bottom layer should be covered with chopped mushrooms (poached or fried in butter), then a layer of tinned chopped tomatoes. Put the rest of the granary mixture on top and bake for about 40 mins at gas mark 6. Lovely and filling, goes nicely with green veg(freezes well after cooking too). My youngest nephew who claims to not like mushrooms actually LOVES this dish:-)
