I have a large bag of granary bread cakes (slightly past their best - no mould or anything tho) what on earth can I do with them. Had a few sandwhiches yesterday so something different would be nice.
Any ideas folks?
Thanks in advance. XXXXXX

They'll be fine toasted. What about tuna melts ?
Tuna melts
Spread each half with a mixture of tuna and mayo and onion if you like.
Top with cheese and melt under the grill.0 -
How about an 'apple betty'? Make breadcrumbs with them and mix with brown sugar and cinammon. Mix with grated apple and bake for a lovely dessert with custard0

Croutons....?
You can dry them out in a low oven no need to fry...0 -
Brown bread ice cream
Turn into bread crumbs, freeze and then wait til you need bread crumbs for something. e.g chicken in spicy crumbs, mackarel baked in crumbs, to stretch mince in a shepherds pie.0 -
Thanks...I have quite a few breadcrumbs in the freezer already, but maybe I'll have to have a few more!:p0

you can turn them into breadcrumbs to use on the outside of chicken fillets or fish. Gives a much crispier crumb than normal white bread. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
