A&L current a/c interest rate

Hi

I've held an Alliance and Leicester "Premier Direct Current Account" since March 2005 and so the introductory interest rate has long since expired for me. However, for the life of me I cannot find what it is now for existing customers?

I'm guessing several people here would have signed up at the same time (on Martin's previous recommendation) and hoped that someone might know. All I can find on their website is previous introductory interest rates. Not much use.

Hope you can help.

Thanks,

DB :)

  • Mine has a goto rate of BOE repo rate less 1% point -
    so at the moment 4.75% less 1 = 3.75%

Still a good rate, but after the 1st year its probably worth moving on, especially if you have used up the regular saver account option
  • I understand that the Premier Direct Current a/c is paying 6.1% on balances up to £2500:

Does this mean that when your balance exceeds £2500 you only get 0.1%. For example:

If I had £4000 in the account would the interest be

    a). 6.1% on £2500 and 0.1% on £1500 or
    b). 0.1% on the whole £4000
