Hello,
I was wondering if u can help me, back in january 2010 my house was flooded. The insurance company agreed to pay for a flat to rent, the minimum contract was 6 months. Its now due for renewal and the insurance company have said its going to b another 3 - 4 months before the house is ready.
Ive asked the landlord about extending the lease and he has told me he has already arranged for new tennants. He gave me acceptable notice of this. Is the insurance company legally obliged to pay for another 6 months lease on another property as this is typically the minimum term when taking out a new lease?
How should i approach them on this.
Thanks

Just contact them and explain the situation (the insurer will be well aware that you will be faced with a new minimum term lease).0

As Quentin says above. One assumes that there is a loss adjuster hanlding the claim? They should be able to help sort things out.0
