    Just to clarify for the OP.

    When the is a charging order on the House , it doesnt follow that the chargee can force the owner sell the house. So it would appear the vendor was taking this action out of ignorance.
    For everthing else there's mastercard.
    For clampers there's Barclaycard.

    Just wondered why he accepted your offer, it would have been easier for him to string things out longer if he just kept turning down offers.

    I have to say I haven't heard of this before, so I'm sure it's not common, maybe this is just karma and you weren't meant to have this house, because a better one awaits you. I hope so.

    It won't stop the companies for ever, they will still be able to go to court to force the sale of the property.

    I'd be knocking on his door with a few big friends and make him grovel...

    Can't understand why he didn't just refuse any offers or put it on at unrealistic price that if it was bought for he'd be happy to sell for, rather than cost other people money.
