Best banks for customer service: are they rated anywhere?

Thanks, fairtrade - this is very interesting (and the fact that Santander comes bottom might reassure people that a well-conducted survey can reflect reality!)
Always a kicker if you get mucked about by a bank that is highly rated, of course! 0 -
I've always found Saga very helpful, especially their telephone service. Birmingham Midshires has been good for me too but bear in mind that these two share the same registration for the £50K compensation limit.
They have attractive rates, too - unfortunately they not only share the same £50k protection but also share it with the Halifax, AA etc. What a pity good rates aren't more evenly distributed between banks!
Thank you, everybody, for this advice - it's extremely helpful. Not Santander, then!0 -
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo not Santander!0

I've taken Santander to the Ombudsman (and won) twice, and had to complain about them loosing my money on another three occassions. I don't care if they offered double the rate of the next best, I would never touch them with my savings.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off0
