If you're really set on buying at auction, consider using an auction buyer, such as Joe Dowd. He gets trade price for the commission, which goes some way to offsetting his fee, and he has a reputation for buying good examples.0

Thanks for the advice everyone, some really useful info, especially things like not having tax and only one key, this all bumps that price up a tad.
I will give them a call and ask for a guide price.
How do I get hold of Joe Dowd?0 -
If you do buy from blackbushe you will need to sort out transport.
The guy I have used a few times (from their down to portsmouth) cost I think about £60 and was there ready to go an hour after the hammer went down. Number I have in my mobile is 07831 642 305 and think he was called Sean.
Was very good but make sure you call him a few days before to check availability etc.
Dont be tempted to drive it offsite without tax and and insurance.
The police are well aware there will always be chancers and are there a fair bit.
Also the chances the car will have much fuel in it are slim and the petrol station just down the road is one of the priciest in the country as they too know this.0
