Deleting program from Windows 7 registry - VPN Client

Hi.

My laptop runs Windows 7. I installed a VPN Client a while back but it was only for 32 bit - my laptop is 64 bit.

I cannot uninstall this - if I begin that process my computer gets a blue screen of death and requires a System restore.

If I try to install the correct VPN Client the same thing happens.

So, can I remove this software from my registry? If so, how do I know which locations to remove it from?

Thanks,
Andrew

It's not normally necessary to edit the registry manually - the uninstallation program should take care of that. The registry keys may be documented on the VPN company's website, or you may be able to find (some of?) them in HKCU\Software\ProgramName.

If the uninstaller isn't working, it might be worth running the 32-bit installer again, then trying to run the uninstaller afterwards (this might replace missing files or registry keys that prevented the uninstaller from working properly first time round).
