Damproofing Cellar

Has anyone damp proofed their cellar? If you have, can you give me any advice on how to do it?

Use a drained cavity drain membrane system with a sump pump (and battery back-up). Get a specialist to install it and make sure the sump is regularly maintained. These systems are by far the best method of waterproofing a cellar - do not use a 'tanking' system (ie a hard render). If you're planning to convert it into a useable room, also look into radon gas as the Health Protection Agency advises that all basements are at risk of containing elevted levels.0

We dont want to convert it to a useable room, just really make it dry (ish) to store items.Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0

Hi,
Thre are a few ways and usually the Cavity Drain method is easiest and most reliable.
I'm a specialist in this area, but for general information this site http://www.cellars.co.uk/ is a good guide.
It is a manufacturer site (the one I buy from), but the information is accurate and it should help you.
