Moving a master socket.

Hello,
Hubby's just signed us up for the self installation sky+ HD. He now informs me we need a telephone connection again. Openreach recently replaced the phone wires coming from the pole to the house. They have fitted a wee box just under the kitchen window where the new cable joins the old. I want to move the master socket into the livingroom, and instead of wiring it thru the house I'd like to route the cable around the house outside. Not sure if its a good idea to access this new wee box. Anyone done anthing like this before?
