What's it called?

... you know the stuff, it's on the top of my conservatory, silver coloured and stops the rain running down the side of the house into the conservatory.
I know that it is normally called flashing when adding an extension but is it called something different in this situation.
I am ordering new polycarbonate roof panels from HERE and would assume I need to replace this "flashing" too

I know one (or many) of you can help

  • It is still called flashing even on the side of the conservatory.

Thanks Sue although it doesn't look like your bog standard flashing, it looks more aluminium a bit like tape. Any ideas?

  • Flash banding
  • If it's silver it will be cheap flash banding which is often stuck on the wall. Its best to use lead flashing (grey) which set into the mortar joints and more robust. I'm not sure why you should replace it though. My sheeting isn't flash bonded to the roof sheeting. I could take my roof panels out the section/frame of the conservatory whilst leaving the flashing stuck to the framework that the sheeting fits into.
