Should this thread be called 'Beware frozen sausage rolls' anymore as they have been exonerated ?
I've never had a problem with the few frozen sausage rolls I've had !Still virtually alcohol free since 4/1/15. (10 Xmas/ New Year/Birthday drinks)
It takes 3500 calories to lose a pound in weight. Target 13 lbs weight loss. 18.5lbs lost 2nd May - 28 September.0 -

I've never had problems with frozen sausage rolls either. Although I make my own (technically) then freeze them.
I think the thread should be renamed "beware, tupperware containers - they're not fly proof"0 -

It is rather fortunate that this irrational fear of insects did not get passed down to me then (incidentally my mother was absolutely terrified of anything wriggly and often told me how awful they were, but she was also terrified of heights and I love them!) as I have just been feeding my son's gecko with his mealie worms, will be feeding it crickets at the weekend!
Shame you didn't keep the sausage roll, I am sure he would have loved the contents! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
So what was it that you saw moving?0

My daughter has just bit into a sausage roll I baked on Sunday (and have kept in a tupaware box).
She screamed and spat out as it felt funny. I checked and the whole mass of sausage meat was moving.
I screamed and threw it across the room!
Panic now over. All been binned, daughter has scrubbed mouth and gargled mouthwash and ate a ton of sweets. NHS Direct are not worried.
I flippin am! What the hell was it? I am too scared of going to the bin and inspecting. I feel so ill and guilty. daughter is fine till she thinks about it then feels ill and panics.
They were Teswco or Asda frozen sausage rolls. Bag was thrown away on Sunday
at the end of the day we all know that at this time of year flies get everywhere, so extra care needs to be taken to eliminate this kind of thing happening. years ago our parents had a built in larder which was cool so food stuff was out of the way of flies etc.i find covering my baking with either a special net/mesh cover or even a clean tea towel helps prevent this happening. Also really any protein based foods shoud be refridgerated asap after cooling to prevent both physical & bacterial contamination hth0 -

I'm sure some fishermen store maggots in the freezer, but I don't know if they would survive cooking as well.
When I was a school a friend was eating a salad prepared by the school kitchens. All of a sudden she jumped up with the hand over her mouth and flew to the loo's. There was a half eaten worm wriggling on the plate.
she brought sandwiches after that.Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p

I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p
