Philips SE5651B - battery short life time

I bought this phone about 3 weeks ago and I'm totally not satisfied of the battery life time, it is stated in the manual that the:
  • Standby time: is Up to 170 hours
  • Talk time: is Up to 14 hours
...but my phone dies after about 1 and half days, even faster sometimes and I'm not making a lot of calls mainly the phone is in standby mode, after a few calls the battery icon on the screen is starting blinking, the batteries are AAA Phillips 650 mAh, can I change the batteries for other, more powerful ? I saw for example 1700 mAh, can I buy these ones ? could they damage my phone ?
I need some advice.
