Hi,
I'm after an external drive as laptop is full to bursting. What takes up the most space is iTunes and HUGE music library. I was wondering, is it possible to run iTunes from and external drive and still be able to update iPod etc. Laptop has plenty USB ports, so don't see why I shouldn't be able to, but...
Oh, and if anyone has any tips for a reasonably priced drive, that'd be grand.
Cheers!

When you do get it make sure you tell iTunes were your music libary is stored, so make sure this is done in the preferances in iTunes.0 -
iTunes is a piece of software so you should continue to run it off your laptop.
For its library it 'displays' which ever folder you specify (by default it makes it own folder in something like C:/my documents/music/itunes/library). The library folder itself is just a regualr folder with regular MP3s so you can simplys 'cut' and 'paste' it onto the new external drive then select that folder in iTunes options. They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0
