BG cheapest for electricity????
I am currently with British Gas for my electricity (no gas in the house, my heating is solid fuel) I am on economy seven, I have all the usual appliances, and a fish pond pump that runs constantly day and night (although I am told they dont use up much). At the moment I wait up until 12.30 to switch on my washer and dishwasher, which I do around 4 times a week, bit of a hassle especially when Im tired but I cant get a timer on as the sockets are behind the machines.
Is there anywhere cheaper and also is it worth me being on economy 7?????
My last bill reading was
day units 1663
night units 486
Thanks in advance

It depends what area of the country you are in, as electricity prices vary.
This thread talks about Economy 7 and the points made are relevant to your situation.

At 23% E7 useage you might find some companies slightly cheaper than on a normal tariff - but not I suspect by much; and certainly not enought to merit sitting up to the early hours to switch on appliances.
All you need to to is go to the various comparison websites and enter in your annual kWh - first as E7 and Normal tariff, then add both day and night tariffs together and enter the total kWh as a non-E7 household.
I suspect there will not be a great deal of difference in prices.
By the way BG electricity prices are normally pretty competitive.0
