Halifax debt moved to collection agency

I missed a couple of letters from the Halifax at one point last year when my mail was being forwarded overseas and they have handed my debt over to Blair, Oliver and Scott. I am now continuing to make my payments by DMP through CCCS to them.
My problem is that I have recently missed out on a very good job (that would have meant I can pay off my debts far sooner) because a credit search was done and my Halifax debt has appeared as a default on Experian.
How can it be classed as a defaulted debt if I am still paying it?
Is there anything I can do to get it removed or at least noted on my credit report that I am still paying regularly?

By missing payments to the initial debt to Halifax, you get an official default notice. You get informed of that by post and it gets recorded on your credit file. It will stay there for 6 years, there's nothing you can do to get it removed unless it's incorrect, which it clearly isn't. Sorry.

Lenders are allowed to default you if you are not paying the originally agreed minimum payment.
By being on a DMP you must be paying less than that so have defaulted on the T&C of the account.
To be honest if you are on a DMP you have been quite lucky to only get one default. Its normal for most creditors to default you. Some will go for the 'arrangement to pay' option on your credit report but that is at their discretion.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
