parking ticket

last year i got a ticket from national parking control dated 02/09/08 the attentand had put the wrong year, l appealed straight away heard nothing and last week got a letter to say due to unforseen technicality in gathing details had caused had the delay but now they want £90 and not £60 and if we don't pay by 22/07 it goes up to £135 and then so on. Surely a ticket has to have the right date on it does anybody know if this is true
many thanks to anybody taking the time to read this

Whilst Martin does give good advice in this (private parking companies) its always best to totally ignore them from day 1. However as you have already contacted them start to ignore them from now on. They will not take you to court, you will not get a ccj, you will get more begging letters and other threats but they are empty ones.
If they were ever to try court then they would be thrown out straight away.Keep all letters and junk mail from them.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

as previous posters state - don't pay it
  • Don't pay - it is most definitely a scam. You will next get a letter from a debt collecting agency, then from their solicitors - DO NOT PAY ANYTHING - I am speaking from experience as I have been up against this scam for just over a year. This is absolutely 100% a scam. Do not feel threatened - keep all correspondence but please please do not pay them anything and do not correspond. They will eventually go away.
