OK I'm very close to buying this, anyone got any opinions on it and its suitability mainly as a TV before I do.

    Thanks

Second question, what's the difference between a TV that can take PC input ( VGA, DVI, HDMI etc) and a moniter that has a built in tuner.

One is called and marketed as a TV and the other is a TV that is marketed as a PC monitor with a built in tuner. Yes, really.

Anyone who thinks they're stuck with needing a VGA input on a screen (TV or monitor), as they're starting to disappear, is wrong. You can buy a VGA/DVI adaptor block cheap as chips, cheaper actually! Some TVs don't like taking the full resolution of the screen over VGA too.
