Hi,
Just wondered if anyone knew when this Energy Performance Certificate came in?
Because my partners flat is part buy, part rent, he brought half 4 years ago and I have looked on the Direct gov website and it says that we should have been supplied a EPC free of charge!
But the company who own the flats are saying that it only came in recently so we have to pay for one to be done.

Energy Performance Certificates
From 1 October 2008 when a building is sold, built or rented an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is required.

This includes homes on the market before the phased introduction of EPCs for domestic properties in 2007.0
